The Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS) was initially established as a cross-disciplinary meeting, holding its first annual meeting in 2001, and becoming an established organisation in 2003. FOCIS aims to improve human health through immunology by fostering interdisciplinary approaches to both understand and treat immune-based diseases and currently has 56 member societies, representing approximately 65,000 clinician scientists in over 50 countries. FOCIS is proud to be the voice for so many clinical immunologists.
Furthermore, they are uniquely positioned to define and address the shared interdisciplinary needs of translational immunologists and related constituencies, largely due to the strength of their volunteer and staff leadership, and their federation model. FOCIS helps to promote the increasing impact of translational immunology in medical research and clinical innovation.
